Real World Marketing Tips

  1. Graphic designers have unique artistic styles.  View the graphic design portfolio before beginning your brochure, flyer, business card, or website to match their style to your industry and personal preference. Marketing Xperience as marketing consultants for over 15 years contracts with several graphic designers, each with varying approaches for best representing the benefits of our clients’ service or product.
  2. Negotiate upfront the estimate for the first round of drafts.
  3. Excessive graphic expenses are directly related to multiple copywriting edits. Prior to meeting a graphic artist or employing the services of a marketing consultant, take the time to write the main points you would like to communicate in the graphic layout. Allow the copywriter to create the first draft in a Word document or PowerPoint for your review.  After the exact verbiage is approved by yourself and your team, you are ready to begin the graphic design process.
  4. Research and provide your favorite ads, websites, logos and brochures to the graphic artist for another great cost savings approach.  Define your preferences initially and your graphic piece will be completed faster and at a lower cost.

Graphic Design

A professional graphic artist makes the appropriate choice for the size and placement of the lettering (font), white space, color, graphs, illustrations, corporate photos and royalty free stock images to best represent the sales message for your products and services.  Each industry has graphic standards which you can determine by reviewing trade journals, trade advertising and industry related web sites.  An industry association will often have links to their members sites, providing a shortcut to your research.

Key to keeping the cost of the finished corporate communication project on budget is preparing a draft that is approved before going to the graphic artist.  Marketing Xperience works with clients to determine the compelling advantages to copy write the content,  select royalty free images, select the size of the brochure or flyer.  Drafts are written in PowerPoint because of the ease in moving graphic objects, text and the small file size is ideal for email.  As a near universal program, we use PowerPoint for both presentations and graphic design drafts.  Once these draft brochures, flyers, business cards, and website are approved, we assign the project to the graphic designer for final layout. We deliver the final electronic file to our print broker who negotiates the lowest printing costs for our clients and/or to our web developer for publishing to the internet.

Marketing Xperience also manages projects for patent drawings, patent drafting, and technical drawings.
